From enabling smart capital mobilization to supporting governments in quantifying their NDCs, our work turns data into actionable strategies that drive impact.

What We Do

SustainAfrica delivers solutions across four strategic pillars, all powered by IoT, AI, and data infrastructure:

1. Climate & Inclusive Finance
   We help governments, financial institutions, and businesses mobilize capital for sustainable development. Our services include fintech for financial inclusion, green banking, climate finance strategy, and climate-aligned investment instruments.

2. Smart Carbon Management
   SustainAfrica supports emission measurement, verification, and the creation of actionable carbon inventories. We also facilitate carbon market engagement and design data-enabled MRV systems for project developers and governments.

3. Risk Surveillance & Mitigation
   Using real-time data and smart sensors, we detect and address operational and environmental risks including illegal fishing (IUU), deforestation, transhumance tracking, asset misuse, and climate-induced disruptions.

4. Academia & Innovation
   We collaborate with universities to build innovation ecosystems around sustainability and climate resilience. SustainAfrica supports academic programs, co-develops curricula, and helps researchers and students access funding for transformative ideas.

Martin Gamamou – Co-Founder & Chief Executive OfficerFinancial Engineer | Climate Risk Strategist | Data Infrastructure & Sustainable Finance ExpertMartin Gamamou is a visionary leader and co-founder of SustainAfrica. With a master’s degree in Financial Engineering from New York University and certification in Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), Martin brings a strong quantitative background to climate and sustainability challenges. He is currently completing a Ph.D. in Data Science and Business Analytics at Capitol Technology University. Martin’s expertise spans risk management, financial systems, and climate-aligned innovation, shaped by professional experience across North America and Africa. His leadership is anchored in a mission to bridge finance, data, and sustainability — enabling smart, inclusive growth through scalable digital solutions.

Dr. Hambaliou Baldé – Co-Founder & Chief Operating OfficerEnvironmental Scientist | Agrometeorology & Climate Data SpecialistDr. Hambaliou Baldé is an accomplished scientist and executive leader with extensive expertise in environmental science, agrometeorology, and climate data systems. He co-founded SustainAfrica after years of research and innovation at the Ottawa Research and Development Centre in Canada, where he led studies on greenhouse gas emissions, water systems, climate-smart agriculture, and environmental monitoring. He has designed and deployed agrometeorological stations, produced datasets for emissions modeling, and developed climate adaptation solutions for the agriculture sector. Dr. Baldé earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Évry (France) and holds additional training in statistical analysis, climate finance, programming, and geospatial analytics. His leadership at SustainAfrica ensures science-based, technologically sound, and regionally relevant solutions that support resilience and sustainability across the continent.
